Lita Ford returns to Idaho for August show at Diamondz

She shreds, she roars, she is legend: She is, Lita Ford. From 16-year-old lead guitarist for The Runaways to platinum selling solo artist, Ford broke through the glass ceiling for women in hard rock and kept soaring, paving the way for the era of empowered females in rock and roll we enjoy today. If not for Lita there would likely be no Lzzy Hale, Maria Brink, Taylor Momsen or Cristina Scabbia tearing up global concert stages.

This summer, Lita will return to Idaho for a special outdoor performance at Diamondz Event Center in Jerome. The show will take place Saturday August 9. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased here. Joining Ford will be Boise’s own, Half the World, as well as The Brian Ward Band, and ZamTrip.

Thirty years ago Ford launched her solo career and scored several hits with songs like “Kiss Me Deadly”, “Hungry”, and her massive duet with Ozzy Osbourne, “Close My Eyes Forever”; the latter of which was recently covered by David Draiman (Disturbed, Device) and the aforementioned Lzzy Hale of Halestorm.

After taking the better part of two decades off to raise her children, Lita returned in 2012 with her seventh studio album, Living Like a Runaway, which she hails as an album about freedom and empowerment. After a tumultuous relationship with husband Jim Gillette (Nitro), the two divorced, providing her creative fodder for the new record. Ford’s goal was to strip her sound back to the basics of guitar, bass, drums and vocals and the inspiration of her punk and metal roots. Living Like a Runaway was well received by fans and critics.

Half the World are an amazing band featuring guitar driven hard modern rock with amazing female vocals by beautiful and energetic front-woman Mary Magill. Think Evanescence meets Breaking Benjamin, with enormous chorus hooks and the guitar energy of Helmet, Disturbed and Sevendust. Urgent, powerful vocal melodies are punctuated by masterful lyrics in this huge wall of sound which is Half The World's signature.

Local guitar virtuso Brian Ward returns with his new band, fronted by the talented and beautiful Tarah Jacobson. This will be their first show at Diamondz with this lineup, and it's not to be missed!

This is an all-ages, outdoor show. Full bar is available to those 21+ with valid ID.

Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 on day of show, and can be purchased at, or at Diamondz in Jerome. VIP tickets are also available for $30, which will get you into the reserved area right next to the stage, as well as an autographed event poster.

Gates open at 2:30pm, show starts at 3:00pm. There will be hamburgers and hot dogs served during the show.

Free ride to and from call (208) 644-1111 x 3.
