On May 15, during Miami Fashion Week 2014 Resort Collections' first day of fashion shows, Venezuelan fashion designer Lisu Vega was named the winner of the Eastern Air Lines flight attendant uniform design competition.
With a sold out crowd as a witness and as part of Eastern Air Lines' sponsorship, Miami Fashion Week 2014 hosted a special runway show as part of their design competition where top Miami-based fashion designers competed to design the company's new flight attendant uniforms. The showcase concluded magically with the emotional announcement of Lisu Vega as the new official Eastern Air Lines designer due to her visionary and stylish designs.
"This is a dream come true for me. When I was a little girl I dreamed of being a flight attendant, so merging the world of design and aviation has been magical for me," said Lisu Vega. "Winning this competition proves that the sky is the limit and Miami Fashion Week is my witness."
Lisu Vega's award package includes a cash prize, the title of official designer of Eastern Air Lines for a period of 3 years, a contract with EAL to design their ground crew uniforms, free airline tickets to any EAL destination, inclusion in the CBS documentary of EAL's re-launch, designer's signature collections to be featured in the EAL retail store at the Miami International Airport for the duration of the agreement, and many more prestigious opportunities.
