The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Zadi Foods Ltd. have issued a warning about some processed meat and cheese products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. These foods would have been sold at deli counters. For a complete list, visit the Canadian Food Inspection website.

According to Health Canada, foods contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not smell or look spoiled but can cause foodborne illness. To date, no illnesses have been associated with the products. Symptoms may include high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems are at higher risk.
