Pop singer Lady Gaga was set to premiere to her new song "Dope" next week but it ended up surfacing online on Saturday. While the "ARTPOP" album so far has been mostly upbeat electronic tunes, Gaga changes the pace and delivers an emotional ballad with "Dope."
"Dope" (originally "I Wanna Be With You") was set to be released as the final promotional single from Gaga's "ARTPOP" album on Monday but the ballad surfaced early today. She pulls back from the heavy electronica sound of her new album and takes to the piano on "Dope." Some synthesizers still accompany Gaga as she belts out the heartbreaking tune. "I need you than dope," she sings with a rawness in her voice. It's a less polished track from "ARTPOP," showing an unfiltered, honest and sensational Gaga grappling with past drug abuse issues.
"Dope" will be released to iTunes on Monday, November 4. It will be the final release before Gaga's "ARTPOP" album drops on November 11.
