Listen as Gollum from 'Lord of the Rings,' 'The Hobbit' covers Tears for Fears

If you love Gollum, from "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings," and you love Tears for Fears, then this YouTube video is for you. Posted on Friday by James Walters, or “IJamesWalters,” as he is known on YouTube, the video melds the two different genres into one, and has already gone viral.

IJamesWalters' fanbase is burgeoning. It's over 2,300 already, and he has only uploaded two videos. His first on, of Gollum singing "I Dreamed a Dream," has had 1.2 million views since being uploaded in mid-February.

His new cover is of Gary Jules’ version of the Tears For Fears song “Mad World.” The twist, of course, is that he performs the song while doing an amazingly accurate impression of Gollum, the character "played" by Andy Serkis in the films based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s "Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" books.

Gollum was, of course, first named Smeagol. Then, he discovered the One Ring, and was corrupted, turning into the creature known as Gollum.

For those who don't recall, Gary Jules’ version of the Tears for Fears hit came into the public venue after it was featured in the 2005 cult hit Donnie Darko.

Not only did Walters portray Gollum during his rebdition, he modified the lyrics somewhat to fit the "Lord of the Rings" villain.

Gollum -- or rather, Walters -- sings:

Our tears are filling up this lakeses because Baggins takeses. Oh, how we hateses him.

That section of the song, in the actual rendition, is:

Their tears are filling up their glasses,
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow,
No tomorrow, no tomorrow.

iJamesWalters' rendition is embedded below.
