For readers interested in percentages of winning floats versus total floats build by each company, the winner would be Paradiso Parade Floats with 100 percent; but with only one entry, it’s not quite a fair comparison.
Self-builders, considered as a group, brought home a whopping 83 percent. Fiesta Parade Floats, taking home the Sweepstakes Trophy for the 20th consecutive year with a three-peat for Dole, won seven awards out of nine entries, garnering 78 percent. Phoenix Decorating Company came in next with 56 percent (10 out of 18 entries), and AES entered two floats and won one trophy for 50 percent.
Tournament of Roses floats—the Queen and Court float and two Rose Bowl Game participating universities—are split up between AES and Fiesta Parade Floats, and are ineligible for prizes so they are not counted in the percentages. As parade sponsors, Wells Fargo and American Honda, built by Phoenix Decorating Company, are also not eligible.

The theme of the 124th Rose Parade and 99th Rose Bowl Game was “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” The Tournament of Roses is a celebration that lasts several weeks in the fall and winter, with the high points being the Rose Parade presented by Honda and the Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO on New Year’s Day.
