Commentary:

Over all, things look pretty good at the 2009 New York International Auto Show. How many will make it to production? We don't know yet, but the majority look promising. A nice blend of hybrid, prototype, concept, and new forms of transportation like the GM Segway Puma can all be seen. The show turned out pretty good.

Which one is the real S-Class?

Hyundai is still using the copy tactic as shown above. But, the performance out of this flagship vehicle is very impressive. This vehicle should make a great platform for performance enthusiasts. A cheap, extremely powerful, luxury vehicle likely to be supported by aftermarket parts. The ease of modification and extreme horse power with an advanced transmission appeals to JDM fans abroad regardless of it's copy cat tactics.

The general impression is that most people don't care about the copy cat-ism and that it's a better bang for the buck. Why spend the money on an authentic version when you can have a semi-replica? Some even insist that the design is based on modern taste, and it is indeed not a replica. If it's bang for the buck your after, the Hyundai Equu should be in your hindsight.

Did you know? Hyundai Tiburon / Tuscani is a world wide used rally car!

The off road presense was dominated by the GMC Terrain while hybrid SUV was catching way towards the Yukon Denali Hybrids. General Motor's other new releases like the Chevy Volt, Segway Puma, and retro Camaro appear to be a homerun. This line up meets nearly every type of vehicular demand which should successfully expand GM's customer base.

An over all impressive display of technology, GM is has really opened up technology to the consumer by creating a Segway inspired PUMA. This two passenger town cruiser can maintain 35 mph for 35 miles. This is accomplished using current litium ion battery technology and may expand in the future.

Talk of modification is already swarming the segway community. Modifying a segway to increase speed is easy accomplished by expanding the diameter of the wheels. It is possible that within a couple of months of release an aftermarket upgrade kit by a third party may hit the pavement. Maybe GM will offer upgrades and various levels of trim. The future of PUMA is a bright one.

Let us not forget the Puma's big brother, Chevy Volt. This is the clear home run from GM. Read more here.
