List of top music stars for MerleFest continues to grow

Over the 24 years that MerleFest has been held, music fans have grown accustomed to top name music stars entertaining them. The talent lineup for MerleFest 2011 continues that tradition. It reads like a who’s who of top music stars. With the recent addition of John Cowan & Friends and Joan Osborne, the lineup continues to grow with talent.

John Cowan was already on the schedule to entertain those attending MerleFest 2011 as part of The Doobie Brothers. Now Cowan will be performing twice for the fans with a special performance by John Cowan & Friends. Making up the group John Cowan & Friends is Cowan, Jeff Autry on the guitar, Tom Britt on the bass and Billy Thomas on the drums.

Also, announced was the very talented and diverse vocalist Joan Osborne will be performing at MerleFest 2011. Osborne will join the popular group The Waybacks as a special guest vocalist.

The lineup for MerleFest 2011 was already packed full of talented top named music stars prior to this announcement. Scheduled to perform at this year’s MerleFest is legendary Doc Watson and North Carolina native Randy Travis.

Also scheduled are David Holt, Lyle Lovett and Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant with Robert Plant and the Band of Joy. As well as Balsam Range, Sam Bush Band, Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, Wayne Henderson, The Infamous Stringdusters, Jim Lauderdale, Del McCoury Band, Tony Rice Unit, Bryan Sutton and Josh Williams Band to name a few of over 90 artists scheduled to perform at MerleFest 2011.
