Remember back in May when the “Cold Water Challenge” of Lisa’s Army swept Facebook? Well in many ways that effort to continue Lisa’s mission of comforting people who are battling cancer has launched a million ice buckets.

It’s nearly impossible to visit social media this week without seeing a famous person being showered with a bucket of ice water in an effort to raise money and generate awareness for various excellent causes.

Here’s the original story from back in May.

I recently asked Lisa’s dad, Bill Loonstyn, how it is that she continues to inspire so many people and he said, “Lisa was an extraordinary woman who was as beautiful inside as she was outside. She touched so many lives and we had to continue her mission.”

Well through her “Army”, Lisa is indeed continuing her mission with what is sure to be the premier formal event of the year. It promises to be a fun-filled, memorable and inspirational night that will help comfort courageous individuals battling cancer.

The evening will be filled with great food, an open bar, dancing, numerous gambling tables and silent & live auctions. The gala will also be recognizing two amazing nurses that are dedicated to helping cancer patients. Dress is cocktail attire or black tie and having a wonderful time in Lisa’s memory is required!

WHEN: September 6, 2014

WHERE: St. Gregory's Founders Hall
8701 Ridge Avenue
Philadelphia, PA 19128
