It’s official! After months of rumors, actress Lisa Rinna has been confirmed as the newest cast member of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” According to a report on Monday by Us Weekly, the “Days of Our Lives” alum has already filmed some scenes for the hit reality series, including a birthday party scene earlier this month at Lisa Vanderpump’s new West Hollywood eatery Pump. (Rinna turned 51 on July 11.)
While Rinna’s place on the show is genuine —she has been good friends with Vanderpump and fellow co-star Kyle Richards for years, and she’s the wife of a bona fide Hollywood star (that’d be Mad Men actor Harry Hamlin) -- the complete cast list for the Season 5 of the show has not been confirmed.
In June, Richards did verify to Us that both she and her sister, Kim Richards, are both set to return to the series, but there has been no word on the fate of veterans Yolanda Foster and Brandi Glanville. Joyce Giraud and Carlton Gebbia, two cast members new to the show last year, were fired after only one season.
Radar Online previously reported that Rinna signed on to join the cast of the Bravo reality show following a successful stint in front of the cameras at Kyle Richards’s annual White Party earlier this summer. The report also revealed that Rinna butted heads with Foster and Glanville, hinting that both of those alums will indeed be back for Season 5.
Interestingly, Rinna once went on record as saying there was no way she would join the hit reality show. "Do you realize I would chew them all up and spit them out?" she said during an interview with Huffington Post Live in May. "Does anyone realize what I would do to those poor women? … I don't want to have drama in my life. I think I'd have to cut all their heads off ... The truth of the matter is, I'd kill them all."
In addition to the casting of Lisa Rinna, there have also been reports that the upcoming season of “RHOBH” could mark the return of former cast mates Adrienne Maloof and Camille Grammer.
Season 5 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ debuts this fall on Bravo.
