Lisa Radogno, the 31-year-old daughter of Illinois state Senate Republican leader Christine Radogno died suddenly. The daughter of the politician from Lemont suffered a massive pulmonary embolism on Wednesday evening. Patty Schuh, a spokesperson for Sen. Radogno, stated that the family appreciates all the kind expressions of sympathy, according to a Chicago Tribune report on Thursday.

NBC News in Chicago is reporting that Lisa Radogno’s death is being linked to a hit-and-run crash that occurred last month. The middle child of Sen. Radogno was struck in a hit=and-run crash that happened in Washington, D.C., where she worked. The spokesperson for the senator is now saying that the death was the result of complications from the hit-and-run accident that took place in mid-May when she was hit in a cross walk with injuries to her wrist and knee. No one has been arrested in the hit-and-run.

Reportedly, Sen. Radogno drove from Illinois to Washington, D.C., and brought her daughter home to Lemont – a southwest suburb of Chicago - to recuperate. After a time, Lisa Radogno returned to Washington, D.C. to continue working. She was at her home in the nation’s capital when she fell ill on Tuesday night while talking on the phone. The person who she was speaking to contacted 911 and paramedics needed to break down her condo door to get to her. Her parents – Christine and Nunzio Radogno - went to Washington, D.C., on Wednesday morning and kept a vigil with Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk at their side in the hospital.

Lisa Radogno was an executive assistant in Washington, D.C. She served in the office of Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk. In a statement, Sen. Kirk said that Lisa was the most vibrant member of his team and an ardent fan of the Chicago White Sox. He went on to say that her role in his office in their heart is irreplaceable. Kirk cancelled a scheduled event for the day. Arrangements for Lisa Radogno’s funeral are pending. However, an open house is being held at Sen. Mark Kirk’s office at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday for those in the nation’s capital who want to pay their respects to the Radogno family.
