A new exhibit at Elvis Presley's Graceland in Memphis will open next week focusing on the relationship between Elvis and his daughter, Lisa Marie. It was announced on Tuesday that Lisa Marie Presley will appear on her 44th birthday, February 1, at the launch of this new exhibit called "Elvis...Through His Daughter's Eyes."
Lisa Marie is the only child of Elvis and has reportedly contributed personally to the planning and development of the exhibit. Artifacts of Lisa Marie's to be included in the exhibit include the Gold ID Bracelet given to her by her father, a childhood tricycle, crib, record player and baby footprints. Family photos and home movies will illustrate the unique experience Lisa Marie had growing up at Graceland.
This exhibit is one of three new exhibits launched in 2012 at Graceland to celebrate the King during the 35th anniversary year of the singer's passing in 1977. "Elvis on Tour" opened on January 5 and celebrates the 40th anniversary of the award-winning documentary also called "Elvis on Tour."
On March 1, the largest of the three new exhibits will open. "Icon: The Influence of Elvis Presley" celebrates Elvis' influence on generations of rock stars. The exhibit will feature many items from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame from the collections of stars like Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Ringo Starr and many others.
