Singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb premiered the lyric video for her latest song, “No Fairy Tale,” on Thursday. The animated clip finds a live-action Loeb telling a love story without all the fabled illusions.
The illustrations in “No Fairy Tale” were done by artist Tess Fowler, who also drew the cover for the Japanese version of Loeb's new album, Billboard reports. Armed with her signature thick-rimmed glasses and a guitar in hand, Loeb narrates Fowler's animated pictures with her punk-pop track. Over the song's rocking sound, the singer dispels the happily ever after notions of a relationship, emphasizing to embrace love's true story.
Loeb collaborated with New Found Glory's Chad Gilbert on her latest record, which explains its rock-leaning production. She has come a long way since breaking out with 1994's “Stay (I Missed You).” Her “No Fairy Tale” album was released on Jan. 29.
