Lisa Ling had a baby girl, reports Us Weekly, March 9. The 39-year-old journalist and TV host, married to Paul Song, welcomed a baby girl named Jett Ling Song. The baby was born in Santa Monica, Calif., at 1:24 p.m., on March 8. She weighed 6 pounds and 6 ounces. "We feel so blessed that this day has arrived," said Ling. "We're nervously excited to begin this next chapter in our lives with our little Jett." Ling suffered a miscarriage in 2010. The ex-"The View" host has created an eco-friendly nursery for her baby.
Among the many avenues the Chinese-American has explored with her career, she is the host of "Our America" on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network. The show takes viewers to "misunderstood and marginalized subcultures throughout the nation." As reported at the OWN website, "Ling has reported from dozens of countries, covering stories about gang rape in the Congo, bride burning in India and the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda, among other issues that are too often ignored."
