Lira (whose name means 'love') has an impressive presence and her voice is so soothing. Inspired by Miriam Makeba, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone, she began singing at 16. Her freshman album, 'All My Love' (2003), received recognition from the Metro FM Awards, South African Music Awards and Channel O Reel Music Awards. She is only the second African vocalist to grace Italy's Teatro Del Greco stage since Miriam Makeba. Essence Magazine named her one of the "Five Unique Artists to Change Music in 2012". Since 2003 she has released 5 albums that have all been hits on several charts. You can learn more about her on her Facebook page and her official website.

Wayna is no stranger to the D.C. music scene or Howard Theatre. She has shared the stage with Les Nubians, Goapele and Gordon Chambers and will do the same at the PG International Festival with Estelle. Her unique musical style, a mix of Erica Badu and Tracy Chapman, with a little Nina Simone thrown in for good measure has earned her a Grammy nomination (for Best Urban/Alternative Performance Category for her remake, 'Lovin You (Music)', featuring Kokayi) and endeared her to the hearts of her fans. You can learn more about her on Facebook.
