After teasing a March 4th surprise on their Capitol Couture website, Lionsgate has unveiled a beautiful character portrait for Effie Trinket (as portrayed by Elizabeth Banks) in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
The portrait features Effie seated on the green chair image that was released last week as a teaser for the surprise. Lionsgate teased an additional portrait coming later in the day, with a yellow chair.
UPDATE: The second portrait turned out to be Caesar Flickerman, as portrayed by Stanley Tucci.
Fans can keep up with the surprises by checking out CapitolCouture.pn and following the Capitol Couture Instagram account.
Many fans had been hopeful that today's surprise would include a teaser-trailer, but never appeared likely. Others have theorized that the trailer would be released on April 14th -- but that news started as a fan rumor, and has never even been responded to by Lionsgate. Given that the MTV Movie Awards are scheduled to take place on April 14th, it's a solid theory that a teaser-trailer could be unveiled that day. But again, this is just a theory and a rumor -- Lionsgate has given NO indication as to when a teaser for Catching Fire will be released.
Meanwhile, cast and crew are in the midst of additional filming on Catching Fire in Hawaii. They are expected to wrap up later this week.
