Lionsgate announces ‘Draft Day’ release date

As of late Kevin Costner has been on the rise coming seemingly out of nowhere with a variety of new films that all deliver in some fashion. One of the more interesting was that of Draft Day that is preparing to make its way home on Blu-ray and DVD.

Draft Day follows the general manager of the Cleveland Browns who must fight to land the number 1 draft pick after a thirteen-year unlucky streak, but can he turn that around or will he just drive the team into a deeper hole? This film was made with an exclusive partnership with the NFL that allowed the filmmakers and in turn the fans unprecedented access to the actual 2013 draft taking the direction of the sports film in a new direction focusing on the behind the scenes of the team instead of the game play itself.

The film kind of came out of nowhere at the time of its release but sported a great supporting cast including Jennifer Garner, Frank Langella, Tom Welling, Chadwick Boseman, Sam Elliott, Rosanna Arquette, Terry Crews, Denis Leary, Sean Combs and was directed by directing legend Ivan Reitman returning to the directors seat for the first time since 2011.

This Blu-ray and DVD release will not only feature the film but also numerous special features including deleted scenes, commentaries, and featurettes that are sure to add to the overall experience to the film. If you happen to miss this unique look into the NFL make sure to grab your copy when it hits digital HD August 19th, VOD & Pay-per-View on August 29th and in stores September 2nd.
