Overland Park, Kansas – From September 19-21, over 2,500 members of Lions Clubs International from across North America will meet at the Overland Park Convention Center for the annual USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum. The event draws attendees from all 50 states, Canada, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico.
The Forum features over 60 seminars and presentations with topics for the education and growth of Lions' leadership skills. Its mission is to develop leaders, motivate and educate attendees, provide an open exchange of ideas, and support programs and goals of Lions Clubs International.
Ed Hearn, former Kansas City Royals player and a member of the 1986 World Champion New York Mets, will be one of the featured speakers. As the author of Conquering Life's Curves - Baseball, Battles & Beyond, Hearn has appeared on hundreds of national radio and television programs including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The 700 Club and MSNBC.
Additional speakers include Patrick Henry Hughes, an inspirational musical prodigy who is blind and unable to walk, and Dayna Steele, a business author, serial entrepreneur, and social media evangelist.
"We look forward to an incredible event in Overland Park and its convention center, as we follow the yellow brick road and go over the rainbow to the Emerald City!” said Doug Lozier, past international director and general chairperson for this year's USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum.
The local economic impact of the Forum is anticipated to reach $1,750,000 and draw 4000 room nights to the area.
