Beverly Hills is no stranger to the glamorous charity event - a decadent ballroom laden with fine food, entertainment, celebrities and a worthy cause - however, you can still be dumbfounded when an extra-ordinary one comes along.
Luckily guests and honorees were anything but dumbstruck at the inaugural Raise Your Voice benefit - a gala put together by Dr Steven Zeitels to raise funds and awareness for groundbreaking vocal therapies that he is developing.
When your previous list of successes includes legendary vocal artists like Julie Andrews, Lionel Richie and Dick Vitale, people sit up and listen, and that's exactly what happened at The Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday 24th of January as supporters and celebrities gathered for the good cause.
Following cocktails and dinner, guests were treated to simple, intimate, raw and breathtaking performances by seminal and legendary artists Roger Daltrey, Christina Perri, Steven Tyler and Lionel Richie, who not only gave unique renditions of their famous hits, but also took to the stage in address and honor to Zeitels as the man who saved their voices and allowed them to continue to entertain and inspire millions.
Dr Zeitels is widely renowned as the best in his field, performing miraculous surgery on the vocal chords when all previous hope has been lost. Singers aside, Zeitels has helped various people who rely on their voice for their work, such as football commentator Joe Buck, who hosted the evening, and was a fantastic auctioneer, raising the financial bar considerably from the generously donated auction items which included a french retreat vacation. Among the admiring attendees were award-winning Director Stuart Acher who cites Dr Zeitels as a "real genius who saved my life", actress Béatrice Rosen (The Dark Knight), Kate Hudson, and top comedy director James Burrows (Cheers, Frasier, Will & Grace), enjoying the gala excellently produced by Bolthouse Productions.
The cocktail of first-class entertainment and worthy cause will ensure this is one of the hottest tickets of the year, so definitely not one to miss in future. Keep updated with the progress of Dr. Steven Zeitel's extraordinary work, and benefit events at www.voicehealth.org
