A fiber road trip with friends is always fun. Did you know that Lion Brand has an outlet store in Carlstadt, NJ? The outlet is located at 140 Kero Road Carlstadt, NJ 07072, (201) 939-0611. The store has an open, free flow, feel. Lion Brand does a nice job of yarn bombing and has a huge knit stuffed mascot as well as a vignette of knit decorations as part of the decor. Pick up a cart and start shopping.

You will find first quality discontinued yarns in bags of 3 at 50% off. There are surprise specials on limited quantity merchandise including books, accessories, $1 knitting magazines and other treasures. Yesterday they had scarf kits with a pattern, skein of yarn and knitting needles all packed in a zippered clear carry tote for $3. There is always a weekly Wow.

You will find samples for viewing of various knitted items. Lots of free tear off patterns to inspire you. Free wifi and computers to browse 4,000+ patterns...they allow you to download and print 2 patterns for you to take. There is also a very comfortable and large, glassed in lounge where you can sit and knit or crochet.

Open 6 days a week and closed on Saturdays. They also have a bin of acrylic fiber in beautiful blends of color. If you spin and haven't tried spinning acrylic, it works up like a rayon/bamboo, soft, sleek with quite a bit of shine.
