The next free performance in the Concerts at the Cadillac series will feature Linn Brown, a pianist and vocalist, whose repertoire consists heavily of songs of her own composition. Her music has been featured in both films and television programs, and on the performance circuit she has opened for Dan Fogelberg and Livingston Taylor. Her songs are personal, poignant, and straight from the heart, which should make for a unique contribution to the Cadillac Hotel series.
As has been the case with other performances in this series, this will be a one-hour concert in the lobby of the Cadillac Hotel (380 Eddy Street at the corner of Leavenworth Street). It will take place on Friday, October 11, at 12:30 p.m. Brown will play on the hotel’s meticulously restored 1884 Steinway Model D concert grand. With the partial support of the North of Market/Tenderloin Community Benefit District, this event is offered free of charge by the hotel as a gift to the people of the Tenderloin. The Cadillac calls itself “The House of Welcome Since 1907;” and all are definitely welcome to this free jazz opportunity.
