Linkin Park to be inducted into Guitar Center’s Historic RockWalk

Guitar Center announces they are inducting Grammy Award-Winning Rock Band Linkin Park into retailer’s historic RockWalk. The announcement took place on June 2.
The private, invite only induction ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday, June 18th at 12 noon at the Guitar Center’s Hollywood location on Sunset Boulevard. This is a big week for Linkin Park because their highly anticipated album The Hunting Party is set to be released on June 17th.

Linkin Park made history with unique electronic, rock and hip-hop fused sound on their 2000 debut album Hybrid Theory. The album went on to be the bestselling album in the world that year selling over 18 million copies worldwide. The group is the first and only group to ever have five consecutive number one albums on Billboard 200 this century.
The band is schedule to hit the road this summer with Thirty Seconds to Mars and AFI on The Carnivores Tour. The Carnivores Tour is schedule to kick off August 8th in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Linkin Park is the largest band on Facebook with over 61 million fans and counting, six Grammy nominations. They are not only recognized for their musical achievement but they are founders of Music for Relief a 501 (3) non-profit organization devoted to providing help to victims of natural disasters and prevention of such disasters. The organization has raised money in the aftermath of Haiti earthquake. Linkin Park has also received a Global Leadership Award from the United Nations Foundations in 2011 in recognition of their humanitarian work.

According to Press Release and BladderMouth.net Chester Bennington, lead vocalist for Linkin Park says “We're honored to have our music recognized by our peers."

Guitar Center’s RockWalk is recognizing the group because they are innovative and influential. RockWalk is devoted to honoring artists who have made lasting contribution and noteworthy impact towards the growth and development of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Blues and R&B. Linkin Park’s handprints will reside next to handprints of greats like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, B.B. King, Stevie Wonder, Run-D.M.C just to name a few.
