Linkin Park fans raise over $350,000 for children affected by the Japan Tsunami via innovative social network campaign. The band performed an intimate show at The Mayan Theatre with special guest B'z.
Linkin Park, along with B'z, Japan's most successful band of all time, challenged their fans to raise money for Japan tsunami relief, to gain access to the private, intimate concert featuring both artists. Fans that raised at least $500 received two tickets to the show. Since the innovative social networking fundraiser began on June 30th, supporters have raised over $350,000 for the cause. Contributors from all over the world have been taking part in the effort, with 4,189 participating.
The top 50 fundraisers attended a private meet and greet with Linkin Park band members, and the top 10 received signed instruments from the band. The top fundraiser watched the concert from the side of the stage. The Mayan Theatre is the smallest venue Linkin Park have performed a full concert in over 10 years.
