When LinkedIn reported its earnings Thursday it surprised Wall Street analysts by beating their expectations for income and total revenue.
LinkedIn is the professional networking site recognized as the top way to land a new job by Robert Half Associates in Southfield, Michigan. Their annual review of how people found jobs cited LinkedIn as the most successful method.
Detroit has seen a growth in social networking groups for entrepreneurs with the establishment of Michigan’s own Sunrise Networking Groups and Local Business Networks. Motor City Connect changed the Detroit Networking scene by becoming the city’s first hybrid networking, combining traditional face-to-face networking with a very robust online social networking group. Motor City Connect quickly became one of the largest groups on its host, CollectiveX, when it added the element of allowing job seekers to join the entrepreneurial aspect of the group.
Yet Linked In has remained the gold standard for professional social networking with millions of members in the Great Lakes Region. In fact, Motor City Connect has a group on Linked In that connects back to the Motor City Connect website.
