Victoria's Secret models are not the only ones who enjoy spending time trying on lingerie. An Iowa man-turned-lingerie-fashionista was arrested after breaking into a lingerie store and leaving wearing a dress and blonde wig, according to a Feb. 25 Daily Mail report.
24-year-old Jose Angel Perales, Jr. was identified after police officers noticed a bold tattoo of his last name in “old English lettering” on his back while reviewing surveillance footage from Dr. John’s Lingerie Boutique in Davenport. After examining the state’s mug shots on file, they confirmed his identity and arrested him on Friday for third-degree burglary and third degree theft.
According to the arrest affidavit filed by Davenport police, Perales reportedly broke into the store in the early morning hours on Feb. 17 and headed straight for the manager’s office. He left the office naked and proceeded to try on various clothing items. After two hours, he left rocking a blonde wig and dress, and carrying other items from the lingerie boutique.
According to the local Iowa Muscantine Journal, Perales was released from the Scott County jail after posting bond. He is facing jail time. Third-degree burglary is a class D felony with a prison sentence of up to five years, and third-degree theft is an aggravated misdemeanor that carries a prison sentence of up to two years, according to the Musscantine Journal.
