Lingenfelter Corvette ZR1 vs Nissan Skyline GT-R Switzer P800

The Corvette ZR1 with the Lingenfelter stage one package is a very fast vehicle, but not fast enough to take down the Godzilla of JDM, Nissan Skyline GT-R. The Skyline used in the following footage is a Switzer P800 package consists of the a quality package of upgrades to run 800 horsepower at 93 octane consistently. Considering the size of the engine, the Nissan Skyline does extremely well against the ZR1 super beast.

Nissan Skyline GT-R Switzer P800 specifications:

  • 800 horsepower
  • Upgraded fuel injectors
  • Electronic boost controller
  • High performance turbo package
  • Off road exhaust pipes
  • COBB Accessport multi-fuel calibration

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Lingenfelter Stage 1 specifications:

  • 680 horsepower
  • Upgraded supercharger pulley
  • Port and polished supercharger snout
  • Engine tested and tuned PCM
  • Solid supercharger isolater coupling
  • Aluminum double bearing assembly

 Summary

Listen to the following performance monsters roar down the unsuspecting freeway in the middle of the night as they fight for top speed supremacy. This Wangan style battle is what both vehicles were designed to do. The Nissan Skyline also is turning an all-wheel drive system which allows a better launch but more drag for top speed. The Corvette features rear wheel drive, which is not as good at launching but has less drag at high speed.

There is also a huge weight difference between the vehicles, with the Corvette weighing in at 3350 lbs. while the Nissan Skyline drops in just at 3836 lbs! Even with a smaller engine, the 3.8 liter Nissan Skyline modified by the Switzer P800 package can run with the best from the west. This is just the beginning of Nissan Skyline GT-R history. I think that a Nissan Skyline GT-R properly modified can win a race against the Bugatti Veyron, but currently no one has built such a beast.

This video proves nothing. When the GT-R starts racing in the ALMS against Corvette, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Vipers; then we will see what it can do. Crap like this makes me laugh every time I see a GT-R getting towed or pulled on a truck b/c it got smashed, which is getting to be a common sight. Let's see how long Nissan builds this thing...
