Currently, the local race scene is in its slow season. Try to put on a race in January, February or March and you'll quickly realize your event is at the mercy of mother nature. Not surprisingly, this is why most races occur between the months of April and November. So while you're in your racing lull, start lining up your calendar with events you plan to race throughout the year. To stay sharp, it's always a good idea to race the smaller stuff as it pops up, but the big races are already acceping applications.
