The artist line-up for Gospel Music Heritage Month's Evolution of Gospel concert was revealed via Facebook today, Aug, 30.The power-packed line-up signals another year filled with all that's great and glorious about gospel music. The free concert, presented by the Gospel Music Heritage Foundation takes place at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on Monday, September 15 @ 7 p.m.
The artists scheduled to perform are Dottie Peoples, Edwin Hawins, Tamela Mann, Kim Burrell, Chad Brawley, Eric Carrington, Tasha Page-Lockhart, Y'Anna Crawley, Stacy J and Unified Praise, Stephen Hurd and WPAS Gospel Choir.
The annual event held each September celebrates the rich heritage of Gospel Music. The observance is made possible by the efforts of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), who in 2008 led the passing of a resolution in both chambers of the House that declared September “Gospel Music Heritage Month.”
This year the Gospel Music Heritage Month Foundation will honor Grammy-winning Gospel artists Yolanda Adams and Kirk Franklin and another Gospel Music Heritage Month champion, Senator Blanche Lincoln.
