Lindsey Vonn stays focused amid Tiger Woods rumors to win giant slalom race

Ski racer Lindsey Vonn shook off recent tabloid attention involving a possible dating relationship with golfer Tiger Woods to capture a World Cup giant slalom win. On Saturday in Maribor, Slovenia, Vonn upset Slovenian Tina Maze, the current overall World Cup points leader who shines especially in the giant slalom.

Also winning the downhill last week at Cortina D’Ampezzo in Italy, Vonn currently stands in third for overall World Cup points. Her standing has been hampered by missing part of the season due to an intestinal illness. She has won the overall title in four of the past five years with the only exception being a narrow runner-up finish to Maria Riesch in 2011.

Regarding a romance involving Woods, Vonn’s publicist Lewis Kay issued a statement that did not confirm or deny the rumors. "Lindsey is currently in the midst of the World Cup season in Europe," the statement read. "Her focus is solely on competing and on defending her titles and thus she will not participate in any speculation surrounding her personal life at this time."

Following a 2011 split from now ex-husband Thomas Vonn, the skier has been a source of tabloid fodder for alleged dating relationships with other athletes. NFL player Tim Tebow was also linked to Vonn.
