Lindsey Vonn fans were disappointed when the skier pulled out of the 2014 Sochi Olympics and gave up her spot to an athlete who was in top condition. The disappointment is not permanent and the athlete will be part of the Olympics. In fact the only difference is she will be a correspondent instead of a competitor. The NBC Olympics announced Vonn’s new position on Monday and the fans are delighted the star will be part of the Winter Games.

“Just announced: @lindseyvonn will join the @ TODAYshow and @ NBCSports as a stateside correspondent for #Sochi2014. Details coming soon,” tweeted NBC Olympics from their official Twitter account.

It appears that Lindsey Vonn will be guiding the fans watching the sports, but she isn’t going to Sochi to do it. Instead it seems that she will be here, in America, for the opportunity. As some people know her knowledge on Winter sports is so vast it doesn’t matter when she is to give insight, only that she starts sharing as soon as possible.

The idea of Lindsey Vonn joining the team at NBC is a great moment for the fans. More knowledgeable athletes and fewer hosts offer a better insight to what happens in Russia and shares how Team USA makes America proud.

So when does Lindsey Vonn start her new job? No word yet on her first day but Olympic fans ought to find out soon!
