Lindsey Vonn, Olympic gold medal skier, has been injured during the Alpine World Championships in Schladming. According to TMZ on Feb. 5, Vonn was airlifted out after the scary crash.
The race was initially delayed for more than three hours. Vonn was leading the race when she crashed when she crashed after launching off a jump midway down the track. Vonn lost her balance when she landed. One of her skis broke which caused her to collide with a gate. After being examined by a doctor, Vonn was airlifted to a hospital in Austria.
It is believed that Vonn could have possibly fractured her tibial plateau, which is essentially the shinbone.
Lindsey Vonn has won 18 of the last World Cup 28 super-G races. Vonn has just recently returned to racing in Jan. after she missed a month of the season as she recovered from an intestinal illness. Vonn has most recently been linked to dating Tiger Woods.
