Lindsey Vonn airlifted after crash at world championships

Lindsey Vonn, the four-time overall World Cup skiing champion crashed on the course Tuesday and was airlifted to the hospital after hurting her knee, at the world championships.

She reportedly lost balance on her right leg while landing. Her ski came off and she slid off course, hitting a gate before coming to a halt.

She was treated on the slope for a short period before going to the hospital. Her U.S. team gave no immediate information on her condition. But said it would release a statement later in the day.

Just last month, Vonn returned to the circuit after an a break from racing to fully recover from an intestinal illness that put her in a hospital for two days.

Vonn has been rumored to be in a relationship with golf star Tiger Woods.
