This morning, World Champion Lindsey Van spoke to TODAY about joining Sochi Games American Ski Jumpers Sarah Hendrickson and Jessica Jerome as the first women participating in this event at the Olympics.

“(I’m) very much looking forward to going and jumping in Sochi and representing my country and showing the world our sport,” said Van. “I’m pretty overwhelmed and excited,’’ she told Savannah Guthrie.

Now Sochi Games teammates, Van and Jerome were once plaintiffs in lawsuit to add women’s ski jumping to the Olympic program. The case was lost, but women’s ski jumping was added to the Sochi Games anyway.
