Lindsey Stirling's 'Shatter Me' is pure gold

Lindsey Stirling fans are eagerly awaiting her Shatter Me album, which will be released in 6 days. Today, Apr. 23, 2014, she released a music video for the song for which the album is entitled. Check out the official video for “Shatter Me” here. You'll note that Lzzy Hale from Halestorm is the featured vocalist in the video.

Stirling is an extremely talented violinist, noted for her youth and simultaneous dancing. What do people love about Stirling's music? When she creates a dubstep fusion and “drops the bass,” combined with her violin solo. It's an innovative approach. As for Hale, she has an astounding range of tonality. She can scream with the rest of them, while also producing a melodic, beautiful voice. Hale is a strong female lead with talents not dissimilar to Amy Lee of Evanescence. When these two elements combine, it's a dichotomy of hard and soft. If Stirling can be said to be like a pixie, Hale is like a siren.

The music video for “Shatter Me” features incredible cinematography, which is a normal expectation when it comes to this artist. Stirling is shown as a ballet dancer/violinist trapped in a snow globe. Lzzy Hale operates the gears to spin the podium in the globe. The powerful violin solos crack the globe and eventually Stirling cracks, too.
