Lindsay Lohan thanks IFC for picking up ‘The Canyons’: 'Yay!'

Lindsay Lohan is extremely lucky her latest film got picked up. The news that IFC would be picking up the movie for distribution definitely was good news as the film has been getting a bad name even before being released released. Rejected from Sundance and SXSW for issues, some fans wondered if The Canyons would ever be released. However thanks to IFC, the movie is pushing forward and will have a New York City debut in the summer. On Saturday Lindsay Lohan responded to the news by thanking IFC.

“Yay! For #thecanyons and thank you to IFC !!!!” tweeted Lindsay Lohan from her official Twitter account on Saturday. While it is rare that an actress would thank anyone after a movie was made, it’s obvious the big stakes the entertainer has in the film and being gracious is important as everyone is watching her closely.

While the film might not be the career changer that Lindsay Lohan was hoping for, it appears the film isn't dead either. Hoping to change the mind of the critics and the fans, the upcoming release might be a boost for the star and hopefully people will appreciate all the efforts she put into the film.
