Lindsay Lohan set to play 70's porn queen Linda Lovelace

Actress Lindsay Lohan is said to be up for channeling her inner porn star in a movie about 1970's porn queen/actress Linda Lovelace. The Los Angeles Times reports one of the producers of the film "Inferno," Wali Razqi, confirmed that Lohan has been cast and an announcement will be made at the Cannes Film Festival later this month; the actress may make an appearance. Actor Bill Pullman is said to be playing Hugh Hefner.

Linda Lovelace, born Linda Susan Boreman (January 10, 1949 – April 22, 2002) is referred to as the most famous porn star of all time and became a household name with the release of the 1972 movie Deep Throat. In her autobiography "Ordeal" (1980) she wrote of life with husband Chuck Traynor who she says married her and forced her into pornography. In time she stated she was forced to perform at gunpoint with things spiraling out of control into a life of violence, rape and prostitution.

In 1986, Boreman testified before the Attorney General's Commission on Pornography in New York City stating:“When you see the movie Deep Throat, you are watching me being raped. It is a crime that movie is still showing; there was a gun to my head the entire time.”

Following this testimony she traveled, giving lectures on college campuses and speaking out against the exploitative crimes and practices associated with the porn industry. She died at 53 years old following complications from a car accident in which she lost control of her car. Having suffered massive trauma and internal injuries, she was taken off of life support on April 22, 2002 and died in Denver, Colorado. The 1972 documentary Inside Deep Throat narrated by Dennis Hopper, features scenes from the movie, news of the period and archival interviews with writer/director Gerard Damiano, actor Harry Reems, Gore Vidal, Larry Flynt, John Waters, Hugh Hefner and Erica Jong.

Linda Boreman said she was never paid for being in the triple-X rated "Deep Throat," her husband got $1,250 and the film reportedly grossed $600 million. Her last known porn film was "Exotic French Fantasies" in 1974 with John Holmes.

Lindsay sure seems to be working her way down the Hollywood food chain. The next stop will be a porn movie.

I hope not, I'm pulling for her. Maybe she'll use it to empower herself somehow.
