Lindsay Lohan's highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey aired Sunday night, with the troubled star making a few shocking confessions, including how she actually subconsciously wanted to go to jail. "I think it was just to find some peace and just have no choice but to just sit and be", Lindsay told Winfrey, according to the Daily News on Aug. 19. Lohan, 27, was also grilled by Winfrey about her addictions. Lohan admitted that she is an addict, and that her drug of choice is alcohol.
Lindsay said how all her past rehab stints and even time behind bars didn't wake her up, but that this last 90-day court ordered rehab assignment finally changed her. She called it different this time.
Lindsay told Oprah that she's only used cocaine "10 or 15 times", saying she really only did so because it allowed her to consume more alcohol.
Lohan told Winfrey that she's all done with doing "hard drugs" and her "riotous" ways, insisting the only thing she takes now are vitamins and Nexium for her acid reflux.
As for her infamous parents, Lohan said she doesn't blame them at all for her problems. She said at the end of the day they're just parents and she can't blame others for her own mistakes.
On the topic of the paparazzi, Lindsay was equally fair-minded, basically owning up to the fact that she's the one who put herself and her antics out there for the public to consume.
She did backtrack a bit however, when she alluded to people making up stories about her. Then again, perhaps some of the tabloid stuff out there was fictitious.
She went on to say that moving forward, she still can't control what people say about her, but she can control putting herself in the situations that provide the fodder for the press.
"I've lived so many lifetimes at this point and it's not interesting to me anymore", Lindsay said, adding, "I'm different. I'm in a different headspace...I feel whole again".
