Lindsay Lohan can’t be pleased that her latest movie was rejected by South By Southwest (SXSW.) The actress who has been trying to make a comeback since she left jail hasn't gotten the warmest welcome from the different film festivals. While SXSW is the latest film festival to reject The Canyons on Wednesday, it’s not the only one.
The Sundance Film Festival also shared the same response only weeks prior to the opening of the even. While the Sundance probably was far more careful in how they decided to decline the film, it was pretty obvious that SXSW didn't care if everyone knew the reason for the decision. Apparently it wasn’t a big deal at the time as James Deen was concerned as it coincided with the AVN Awards.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the quality of the film was the primary reason for the decline, but not word on whether that was the actual film itself or if it was a reflection on the acting by the stars. Either way it is a big black eye for the film that was to help Lohan’s career.
