Lindsay Lohan's lawyer-- who once defended O.J. Simpson-- decides she can no longer work with Lohan

Lindsay Lohan's lawyer will no longer be OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL IS THAT

How ironic is it that Lindsay Lohan's lawyer has decided that she no longer wants to represent her client?  Well, consider this: this is the same lawyer who, once upon a time, provided defense for O.J. Simpson.  Think about that:  she could stomach all the hoopla and obvious guilt surrounding the Simpson case, but just couldn't take another minute of Lohan and her shenanigans (which, as we saw yesterday, included painting the words "F--k You" on her fingernails before heading to court).  Let's speculate on the reasons that Lohan's lawyer would've bailed below, my gentle Examiner readers...

Years ago, Lindsay Lohan starred in a comedy written by Tina Fey called Mean Girls, and her future looked incredibly bright.  Now she's been reduced to a shadow of her former self, begging other celebritites to write her back on Twitter, infuriating the judge responsible for deciding how long she should be imprisoned for, and being enough of a pain in the ass that her lawyer just quit on her.  Oh, you hadn't heard about that?  It was in the headline, I thought you knew.  Yeah, this is happening:

TMZ has learned ... Lindsay Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, has resigned as LiLo's lawyer.

TMZ called Holley for comment on a story we're working on, and she informed us she is no longer repping Lindsay.  Sources tell us Holley resigned earlier today.  As for who Lindsay will be hiring ... we're told she's a brand new lawyer, Tiffany Feder-Cohen, who was just admitted to the bar in November.

Something's gone terribly wrong when your own lawyer doesn't see the point in defending you anymore.  Then again, this could be something as simple as Holley not wanting the media attention right now.  If that's the case, though, it's hard not to point out that this is the same woman who once served on O.J. Simpson's defense team: you'd think that if she could handle that, she could handle anything.  No, this is likely a case of a lawyer being too frustrated by her own client to go on.

It also doesn't bode well for Lindsay taking on what sounds like inexperienced counsel.  Now, of course, it could turn out that Lohan's latest attorney is the greatest lawyer in the world, a previously undiscovered, legal wunderkind.  Or, it could be that it's the last person left willing to take on her case.  I'll allow you to draw your own conclusions as to which is more likely.  As for yesterday's "Fingernail-gate", no word has come back from the court yet as to whether or not Lohan may face contempt charges, but it doesn't seem impossible.  Yesterday also brought the news that Lohan's father-- the esteemed Michael Lohan, who's partial to mesh shirts-- told reporters he'd be going to the nearest bar to "call Lindsay and make her jealous".  You stay classy, Lohan family.
