Pitbull always maintained his lyrics involving Lindsay Lohan in the single Give Me Everything where nothing but compliments. After the actress sued the singer, people didn't know quite what to think as the words didn't reflect anything negative. Well, the court case finally traveled through the court system and it was ruled on Thursday that the rapper did not exploit her by mentioning Lohan’s name and it was protected under the First Amendment as a work of art.
The lyric in question was an isolated mentioning and didn't entirely reflect on how the star’s name could be completely involved with the song. However, it did mention her name, but not as a sales pitch or endorsement:
“So, I’m tiptoein,’ to keep flowin’ / I got it locked up, like Lindsay Lohan.”
The catchy song is still heard on rotation at radio stations, but since it was released in 2011, it’s heard more often in the clubs as the catchy beat is hard not to dance to. As Pitbull has been a gentleman about the situation from the moment he was questioned about the lyrics until the final decision was handed down, it’s safe to say he didn’t have an alternative agenda. In fact, he has mentioned more than once that the reference was a positive nod to the star who keeps trying to make a comeback in her career.
