A Lindsay Lohan GTA V case is bringing Lindsay Lohan back into the spotlight this week, as it appears that LiLo is suing the “Grand Theft Auto” game makers for using a similar female image — her likeness in a character — without permission. Lohan is allegedly wanting some “serious money” from the Rockstar company for electing to use her lookalike, though there has been no official comment from either party so far, WebProNews reports this Monday, Dec. 2, 2013.
The Lindsay Lohan GTA V issue came about after a TMZ source claimed that LiLo is suing the makers of the “Grand Theft Auto” game for creating a female character that was modeled after her image sans her say-so. Fans of the GTA 5 have since been playing through the game again in an effort to find out which female character might be the culprit, and the press release that two figures might be possible.
The first possible character is in fact shows on the cover of the popular GTA V game (as evidenced in the attached picture), while another Lindsay Lohan lookalike suspect is a celebrity in the game that continues to have serious problems with the paparazzi as well as her families. Due to her high compensation requests, it seems that the cover girl is the problem here.
Do you have any response to the Lindsay Lohan GTA V accusations? Do you believe the photo bears any resemblance to LiLo, or is the troubled star just looking for more attention over this “similar female image?”
A major problem that Lohan may face from Rockstar, however, is that there is another female claiming that she is in fact the source of the game’s cover character. Shelby Welinder, a popular model, claims that it was she who was in fact hired to pose and then be translated to the game.
“I worked for Rockstar Gaming and signed a release that said I’d be listed in the game credits,” Welinder said. Welinder also shared an image of payment in an attempt to show that Rockstar Games paid her for the likeness.
