According to Radar Online on Feb. 26, the judge in her civil case just slapped Lindsay Lohan with a $1,000 fine for failure to appear at her deposition. This comes one day after her criminal defense attorney sought a continuance in Lohan's criminal case.
What hurts most about this new fine is that it flies in the face of what Lohan's new attorney Mark Heller argued for in the criminal case. Heller asked for the continuance because he wanted Lohan to seek mercy and compassion by setting a "glorious example." The very next day, the judge continued Lohan's civil case when she failed to appear at a deposition, earning her a fine for misconduct.
The judge now said that Lohan has to appear at an April 8 deposition and if she continues "to play games," her fine next time will be much more significant. Julia Azrael, Lohan's civil attorney, is trying to break off from Lohan because she has been unable to communicate with her.
With this problem occurring in the civil case, the fine and continued problems could sway the judge in the criminal case when it comes to Lohan "setting a glorious example" in her life. Lohan may not think that blowing off a civil court judge will affect her criminal case, but everything she does right now will weigh into the judge's decision in the criminal case.
The civil suit involved the photographer who was involved in a hit and run by a car that Lohan was riding in.
