Lindsay Lohan dropped from latest film

The past few years have not been kind to Lindsay Lohan. She has recently been dropped from an upcoming role in the film The Other Side, in which she was supposed to star as a graduate student living on a deserted island. Lohan has not had a film role since the disastrous 2007 bomb I Know Who Killed Me.

"Our team simply chose to move on from Lindsay and we'll soon be announcing a replacement," writer/director David Michaels said of Lohan's dismissal. Others attribute her dismissable to no longer being a "bankable" star and not being worth the insurance studios would have to take out on her.

She would have starred in the film alongside Woody Harrelson, Alanis Morisette, Giovannia Ribisi, and Dave Matthews. Brittany Murphy was also signed on for a role in the film until her untimely death in December.

Lohan has also be in the news recently for skipping out on two depositions for the bizzarre 2007 incident when she hijacked an SUV with three people inside. Lohan has been given a final opportunity to attend the depostion on May 4, and may face jail time if she fails to appear.

Lohan has a film entitled Machete, which is due to be released in September. Directed and written by Robert Rodriguez, the film is also set to star Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, and Cheech Marin. It will be Lohan's first big screen release in nearly three years.
