Lindsay Lohan’s Beverly Hills leased house is going back on the market next month, with a stiff increase in rent. Since Lindsay took part in Bravo’s “Million Dollar Decorators” show this past year, which saw her digs remodeled to the tune of $200,000, one has to wonder if the 26 year-old actress priced herself out of her own home. Sources claimed just recently that Lindsay Lohan was already struggling to come up with the old rent so she’d not likely be able to afford any increase. But other reports also say she wants to move back east to New York, and point out that she paid her rent on time, according to E! News yesterday.
In December, TMZ reported that Lindsay Lohan was struggling to pay her $8,000 rent on her mini-mansion in L.A.. Perhaps that was due in part to her bank accounts being seized by the IRS for back taxes. They also reported Lindsay was trying to get out of her lease early.
The E! source claims Lohan always paid her rent on time, and has left the house “immaculate”, describing her as “the perfect tenant”. Of course the home should’ve been in better shape than when she moved in after Kathryn Ireland of “Decorators” gave it an overhaul as part of her reality series.
According to Zillow, the house is back on the market, thinly veiled in the listing description as having been occupied by Lohan, with a $10,450 per month price. No doubt the updating by Ireland contributed to the increase, but maybe Lindsay’s name is lending to the bump up as well.
After all, $200,000 is really only a facelift in multi-million dollar mansion remodeling terms. And the rental increase is $2,450, or more than 30 percent. Just because Lindsay allegedly paid her rent on time per the E! story, doesn’t mean she can still afford it.
Reports are that Ms. Lohan has wanted to move back east where she’s from for some time. No doubt her legal troubles in southern California haven’t sweetened her on staying there, but her latest scrape in the east looks like it may just go away.
“It's my opinion that this case will ultimately be declined for prosecution, but it will be several weeks before the district attorney makes that decision”, Lohan’s attorney Mark Heller said yesterday according to CNN.
He was speaking about the misdemeanor assault case, in which a psychic claims Lindsay Lohan punched her in the face at Club Avenue in Manhattan on Nov. 29.
During yesterday's hearing on the case, the prosecution said they weren't ready to proceed with charges yet. Lindsay's attorney sees this as an indication that this matter will simply go away, and no charges will ultimately be filed.
Heller says that psychic Tiffany Mitchell is only seeking her 15 minutes of fame. About Lindsay he said, “All she did was verbally request her privacy”.
