Lindsay Lohan recently admitted that she failed drug tests via Twitter on Saturday, September 18, 2010. The child actress/drama queen is under court orders not to drink alcohol or take drugs as part of the terms of her probation.
This setback in the rehabilitation of Lindsay Lohan comes just days after she appeared on the MTV Awards and joked about being an alcoholic in an unfunny bit with MTV VMA host Chelsea Handler. Anyone familiar with substance abuse knew that it was way too early to claim she had turned her life around.
Lohan was released from court ordered jail and rehab early, but it appears she is abusing the privileges given her. This backslide could send Lohan back to jail. It will be interesting to see if the court takes action.
After reports that Lohan failed drug tests, she denied that she had taken drugs. Now she at least admits that she took the drugs in her Twitter statement.
“Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result.”
She went on to say “Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps…forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future…This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences.”
