Lindsay Lohan and father Michael booked in jail in same month (photos, videos)
On November 16, 2011, Michael Lohan walked out of the Hillsborough County Jail in Tampa, Florida after being held on domestic violence charges. Michael Lohan is the father of actress Lindsay Lohan, who also faces legal battles of her own. Both were in jail during the month of November. Michael Lohan accepted a plea deal, which allowed him to leave the Orient County Jail and go straight into a treatment program. While many are saying that Michael Lohan just caught a lucky break, the same can be said of his daughter Lindsay. Lindsay Lohan appeared in court in early November on probation violation charges and could have been sentenced to serve 30 days in jail. The Century Regional Facility in Lynwood, California quickly released her after spending less than five hours in their facility due to overcrowding.
Michael Lohan was first arrested in Tampa Bay on October 25, 2011 for an incident involving his then girlfriend Kate Major, 28. He faced domestic battery charges and on October 26, 2011, stood before Judge Walter Heinrich stated Lohan was to be held on $5,000 bond. Photo evidence revealed bruises on Kate Major’s arms and legs. Though Lohan had been issued a no-contact order he was arrested two days later, on October 28, 2011 for repeatedly calling Kate Major at her apartment. During that encounter, Major called authorities who arrived at her residence and listened in on one of the phone calls. Authorities arrived at the Tahitian Inn located at 601 S. Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa to discuss the incident with Michael Lohan when Lohan leapt from a third story balcony and injured his foot. Authorities brought Michael Lohan to Tampa General Hospital for evaluation before booking him in the Orient Road Jail for a second time. On Saturday, October 29, 2011, Michael Lohan was denied bond and a move that revoked his original bond of $5,000.
According to reports, Michael Lohan will spend four months in a residential treatment facility in Fort Myers, Florida and will then complete Florida’s intervention program for batterer’s charged with domestic violence. There is a no contact order in place preventing Lohan from further contact with Kate Major.
Lohan pleaded no contest to the charges in order to enter the program. Should he violate the conditions he will return to jail.
