Chris Dodd
Linda McMahon, wife of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (WWE) chairman and ringmaster Vince McMahon, and WWE chief executive officer, resigned from her position today to run against Chris Dodd in the Connecticut senate elections in 2010.
With a hodge podge of contenders to unseat Dodd, McMahon could be force in this race. Low approval ratings and various controversies puts Dodd's future with the Senate in doubt. Dodd's potential opponents in addition to Dodd include former U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons, economist Peter Schiff, and former Ambassador to Ireland Tom Foley.
Due to all of the other contenders being unknown, Dodd could win simply on name recognition alone. Plus, McMahon hasn't held any political office except a position on the Connecticut Board of Education. Although her pockets are deep, money alone cannot win an election.

Dodd's long standing corruption will probably go a long way towards his being voted out of office than anything else, regardless of who wins.
I should think a mention of that would be appropriate, even for an acknowledged democrat, or do you just take it for granted that Democrat politicians are going to incredibly corrupt, so there's no need to say anything about it?
