Linda Harvey: 'Homosexuality is ripping apart people's lives and families'

Controversial Christian talk show host Linda Harvey is at it again. The anti-gay host of the radio show "Mission America" never holds back of voicing her views. Monday was no different, as reported by Opposing Views, Harvey actually compared homosexuality to slavery stating that those who oppose homosexuality must stand up and fight the same way "Christians like William Wilberforce" rose up and fought abolishing slavery.

Harvey said on her show: "Abolishing slavery, wasn't that politics? Didn't Christians like William Wilberforce rise up and fight in the political realm two centuries ago to do what was right? They were called extremists then too. but actually no, this is not only about politics. Homosexuality is ripping apart people's live and families."

Actually Linda, it is the closed minded views and acts of homophobia that is ripping apart lives and families. But Harvey does have the right to her opinion. She backs up her argument stating:

"I can't tell you how many sad tales I've heard from people who've seen the destructive effects of homosexual behavior in the life of a son, a daughter, a brother or a sister. The first battleground of ideas is one's own mind. We need to equip our kids to stand firm in their convictions and know how to defend them."

In today's society, there are many LGBT youth who are doing exactly what Linda is describing. They are standing up for who they are and living their lives how they were born to live them. The "battleground of ideas" is the internal conflict a young child faces when they are told who they should be instead of being allowed to be who they actually are.

Harvey continues to express her bigoted, conservative, and at times very extreme views. Back in December, the radio host said same-sex marriage is wrong become "homosexuality is wrong". She also blamed homosexuality for promoting sex among young people.
