Lincoln Organ Showcase brings you Anne Wilson

Another not-to-be-missed organ concert takes place on Sunday, Feb. 26th at 4:00pm. The Lincoln Organ Showcase (LOS) brings Anne Wilson to town this month. Her performance will be at Southwood Lutheran Church (9300 S. 40th St. Lincoln). Tickets are $15 (Regular) and $10 (Senior), students and youth 18 and under are FREE.

In the 2011-2012 season so far, LOS has presented Jonathan Ryan and Kraig Scott at the organ. Jonathan Ryan gave a pre-recital interview to Examiner.com and you can read it here; the review of Ryan's performance is also available at Examiner.com. Kraig Scott's pre-performance interview, in which he discusses the pieces he programmed for the performance, can be read here.

The king of instruments has been put through its paces already this year, and yet, Anne Wilson has something special to present. Besides being another wonderful opportunity to hear an accomplished performer on one of Lincoln's organs, Wilson will be offering a children's event beginning at 3:00pm, an hour before the concert.

Often times, performers program long recitals--due to the rich tradition and variety of music that the organ has to offer. Such performances are wonderful, but hard for children to understand or sit-through. Wilson's performance is the one which will introduce your children to the powerful music of the organ.

LOS has advertised Wilson's performance as a "concert for children of all ages." And since kids are free, you can hardly pass up the opportunity.

Whether you are a long-time organ lover, someone merely interested in seeing what it's all about, or just a kid at heart--this is the concert to attend.

More information on LOS is available at their website or facebook page. You can read Anne Wilson's biography at this site.
