The 13th annual Lincoln Arts Festival will be held at the SouthPointe Pavilions shopping center on September 28th and 29th. It will include a weekend filled with art shopping, and live local music and dance with a cultural focus. Over 100 artists will display and sell their work. The festival has become a tradition held every year in September.
Want to have lunch with the Mayor of Lincoln, Chris Beutler? Become a Patron Sponsor for $125 and you and three guests can have breakfast with the Mayor, and also receive $100 in "art bucks" to spend with any of the artists. The remaining $25 is considered a tax-deductable donation to the Lincoln Arts Council.
New to the event this year is the World Entertainment Stage which will feature six groups from Lincoln's cultural communities. Performances will be on the half hour between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Each of the following group will perform twice daily:
Sangre Azteca (Mexican Dance)
The Karen and Quinn Chapel Choir (Black Gospel Music)
Daniel Martinez and Oscar Rios (Peruvian, Mexican and Latin Fusion)
Star City Kochavim (Klezmer Music)
The Young Spirit Dancers (Native American)
Admission to the festival is $1 for adults, and children 12 and under are free. For more information about the Lincoln Arts Festival visit www.artscene.org.
